2018 - Bee Awareness at Te Rangi Aniwaniwa

Te Rina had the pleasure of sharing her knowledge to the students at her former school, Te Rangi Aniwaniwa, recently as part of our Bee Awareness Month campaign.

Presenting in Te Reo, Te Rina interacted with the children in four different groups, from Year 1 right through to Year 8, teaching them the importance of bees and how the hives work, with the backup of Ty and Tawai to help with the overflow of questions.

From all the smiles, questions, enthusiasm and hugs both the students (and especially the teachers) loved this experience so much and have developed a new sweet spot for honey bees. The students were thrilled to have taken home wildflower seeds to plant in their gardens for bees to enjoy.

The Mana Kai Team are looking forward to presenting to more schools in our area with Te Kura Kaupapa o Pukemiro up next.
